St. Augustine’s Priory

The building to the right of the photo is St. Augustine’s Priory, House of Prayer. To the left is the Sacred Heart Church which is part of the Priory and is also the Parish Church for the local community.

Reflection Room

The Reflection Room is available for Spiritual Direction and Guidance.

Daily Mass

For those who wish, there is Mass each day; Monday – Saturday at 10am, Sundays at 9am. Our Parishioners attend and our Retreatants/Guests of any Christian denomination will be very welcome to attend.

Accommodation & Facilities

The House of Prayer consists of two parts with the Chapel and Sacred Space at its centre. Our accommodation and facilities include the following:-

  • 14 single, 2 twin and 1 double bedrooms,  all en-suite. However, not all rooms are accessible by a lift.1 bedroom is wheel-chair accessible with a wet room en-suite.
  • 2 Reading/Library Rooms.
  • 1 Sitting Room.
  • ‘Tea Stations’ on each floor.
  • A large and a small Dining Room.
  • A Conference/Meeting Room with seating for a maximum of 25 people.
  • 3, one to one Rooms for Spiritual Guidance.
  • An Art Room for individual or group use.
  • A garden with a Labyrinth.

The beach with Prom is less than 5 minutes away by foot.

There is a public sensory garden and other pleasant parks within a short walking distance. Many places of interest are accessible by car, bus or train.

Conference Room

Bedrooms

One of the 5 single en-suite rooms. All rooms are provided with towels. Each room also has a NRSV bible for Retreatant’s use.

Dining Room

There is seating for a maximum number of 25 people. Seating can be rearranged according to group requirements and use.

Sacred Space

This Sacred Space is situated to the side of the Sanctuary in the main church. It is a comfortable space for prayer and reflection for individuals or groups.
